Countless books are promoting Wicca. To confirm the trend, simply type "Wicca" or "Witchcraft" into the search field of Walmart.com to see over 100 titles, many for teens, including Silver Ravenwolf's bestselling, Teen Witch: Wicca for a New Generation (Llewellyn, latest printing
2003)
Wicca is the name for a contemporary pagan revival of witchcraft. Contrary to popular stereotypes, Wicca, is not witches in black hats, riding brooms and casting
spells. Modern day Wicca, much like many other faiths and churches in the world today, has fallen in line with the new age, humanist movement. Many of Wicca's core beliefs are completely compatible with
humanist new age beliefs and have taken on the Mother Earth worship aspect and the deification of man that all of the new age religions are known for. While all witchcraft and
neo-pagan groups vary widely in their rituals, techniques, and some beliefs, they are consistent in their doctrine of nature worship, goddess worship,
we are all gods, and a oneness or connectedness of the cosmos.
Leviticus 19:31 "Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the
Lord your God."

Most Wiccans do not accept the belief that there is good or evil. They argue that there are only forces that must be balanced. Evil is just a necessary part of good and the negative can be transmuted into the positive (a basic belief of medieval alchemy). While political views are not universal among witches, most support neo-tolerance. There is no absolute truth. What's true for you may not be true for me, so everything is true, just pick one. They also are strong supporters of women's rights and matriarchy, sexual "freedom" (including homosexuality,
polyamory, (non-monogamy), sexual activity by teens), abortion, and the abolition of Christianity from public life, especially in schools and governmental functions.
In recent years there have been lawsuits filed by Pagans against such things as "In God We Trust", student-led prayer in schools, the Ten Commandments, and Christian symbols, such as the Cross, in city and county seals. However, many are also active in getting the schools to teach the Wiccan holidays (Halloween, Winter Solstice, etc.), pagan elements of "Earth Day", and Pagan symbolism. An ally in the fight to introduce pagan earth worship into the schools is found in the United Nations as they are working to promote the Earth Charter in education, a document that contains much pagan tradition and doctrine.
2nd Kings 21:6 "And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the
Lord, to provoke him to anger."

There are a wide variety of beliefs and practices in modern day Wicca. However, despite the pluralism and diversity, distinct principles derived from Gardnerian Wicca are common to most modern witches. Some of these beliefs are as follows:
* Everyone has the divine (or goddess) within.
* One should develop natural gifts for divination or occult magic (often spelled 'magick' by occultists.)
* Divine forces or nature spirits are invoked in rituals.
* The Goddess, as either a symbol or a real entity, is the focus of worship.
* Nature and the earth are sacred manifestations of the Goddess.
* Everyone has his or her own spiritual path to follow.
* Rituals and celebrations are linked to the seasons and moon phases.
* Meditation, visualization, invocation (calling on forces or gods/goddesses), chanting, burning candles and special rituals trigger a sense of the mystical, thus reinforcing the core belief system.

Similar to Hinduism, the serpent is believed by Wiccans to be a symbol of eternal life and female spiritual awakening or power. In Hinduism, yoga and meditation results in enlightenment from awakening the kundalini, or power known as the serpent power believed to be coiled at the base of the spine. Other symbols used in witchcraft are:
* Pentagram and pentacle - A 5-pointed star used for protection, spells, conjuring, etc.
* The Ankh - Egyptian cross-like symbol with a loop at the top associated with the worship of Isis.
* The Crescent Moon - A symbol of the Goddess also used in Islam.
* Crystals - believed to contain healing and spiritual properties. Crystals are also used by many other new age cults.

The first five Harry Potter books have sold more than 265,000,000 (265 million) copies in 200 countries and have been translated into 62 languages.
The publishing industry rarely sees a phenomenon like Harry Potter. And there seem to be few
Christians speaking out against it. WAKE UP people! There is a spiritual
warfare going on. The enemy is Satan, and he is out to pillage the
eternal souls of your children. |
|
A poll at CNN.com recorded almost nineteen hundred votes asking if Harry
Potter was a bad influence on children. A landslide of ninety-five
percent said "no." The results were not surprising considering
the desensitization and ignorance about the occult by the general
population and even among those that consider themselves as
Christians.
But has anyone polled the parents to see how many of them actually read
the books BEFORE handing them over to their children? How many parents
realize the occult teachings in the Harry potter series?
Experts
on the occult, Marcia Montenegro of Christian Answers for the New Age
and Caryl Matrisciana, author of Gods of the New Age
both have personal experience in the occult before becoming Christians
To emphasize the occult teachings through out the Harry Potter
series Caryl points to just one of hundreds of examples; a chapter in the fourth book entitled "Flesh, Blood and Bone".
"Harry is magically transported with his friend Cedric to a dark, scary graveyard. There, Harry is tied to the headstone of Lord Voldemort's father's tomb by Voldemort's slave, Wormtail -- a shapeshifter who takes the form of a rat. A slithering snake, synonymous with the presence of Voldemort, circles around Harry. Following an order to kill from a voice of unknown origin, the slave utters a death curse. In shock, Harry witnesses the murder of his friend Cedric."
What parent would hand over a book with such a story line to their
innocent children? The answer of course in simplistic terms is that they
are idiots; they don't think for themselves, but instead follow
mindlessly along with the rest of the cattle to spiritual
slaughter, with their trusting children in tow.

Whether the author JK Rowling is aware or unaware of the Satanic
influence of her writing is unimportant, she is still being used as a
soul destroying tool in Satan's plan. She and her Harry Potter books are
being used to desensitize readers to the dangers of dealing in the
occult, thus setting up an entire generation for spiritual destruction. |
What
better way to introduce tolerance and acceptance of what God calls an abomination,
than in children's books? If you can get control over their minds when they are young, then you have them for life.
It's the oldest marketing scheme known.
Harry Potter is a tremendous advertisement and endorsement for the occult.
The Harry Potter book series is one of the most potent tools to entice
children along the path to become ant-Christ and anti-God in their
beliefs.
The main purpose of Satan in marketing these books is to resurrect old
pagan occult teachings into a new and acceptable belief system. The
"New" pagan ideology taught in the Harry Potter books comes complete with trading cards, computer, and other wizardly games, clothes and decorations stamped with HP symbols, action figures and cuddly dolls and audio cassettes that could keep the child's minds focused on the occult all day and into night.
But in God's eyes, such paraphernalia and teaching become little more than lures and
dark doorways to deeper involvement with the occult. In contrast, God calls a person
"blessed" who "walks not in the counsel of the
ungodly:" "nor stands in the path of sinners", "nor sits in the seat of the scornful
(mockers);
God's
Word has a clear warning regarding parents allowing their children to
take part in ungodly practices. It is such an extreme sin in God's eyes
that it is called an abomination;
Deuteronomy 18:10-13 "There shall not be found among you any one that
makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out

WICKED SPIRITS: AN END TIME MENACE
The numerous enticements of the fallen spirits are more visible today than ever before, because they know their end is very near. Recall that Jude foretold they would be in “chains under darkness until the judgment of the great day,”—our day. Of our day Jesus said:
“And as it was in the days of Noe so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man
at the time of his return.” (Luke 17:26, 27, 30) As we learned previously, during the days of Noah, the earth was “filled with violence through them
(the fallen angels)...” (Genesis 6:13) The demons have never let up their unrelenting desire to recreate the society that existed before the flood. What we see happening today, as a result of their malicious meddling, is rampant immorality of every conceivable kind.
The entertainment industry, driven by profits, has played into the hands of demonic
influence as they capitalize on people’s curiosities and fascinations. In every sector, evil parades itself as entertainment, with blatant acts of rebellion, immorality and the occult. Hollywood has produced scores of extremely evil movies: The Exorcist,
Damian, End of Days, Poltergeist, The Omen, etc. Every evil imaginable can be portrayed realistically through computer animation. As a result, people sit spell-bound in front of movie, TV and video game screens unaware of the real dangers and power behind the images. Indeed, those watching have become desensitized to the wickedness, receiving an imprint of evil to linger in their memories.
But, spiritism is not always immediately apparent as something evil. Satan and the fallen angels often disguise their evil schemes as something beneficial for the purpose of gaining someone’s trust and loyalty, especially the Christian. Satan and his servants will do seemingly good works or promote seemingly good teachings to further their agenda of confusing people regarding God’s true plan of salvation and God’s true standards of righteousness.
“And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness...” (2 Corinthians 11:14 NAS)
For example, spirit mediums or channelers have often become unintentional accomplices of the fallen angels. By claiming to communicate with the dead, they make evil appear comforting to those who mourn. America’s most familiar medium is John Edwards. His popular TV show “Crossing Over” enters more than 533,000 American households every night. The Scriptures state that the dead cannot communicate—they are unconscious in death (Ecclesiastes 9:10)—therefore, Mr. Edwards must be communicating with demons disguised as departed loved ones. Satan has once again perpetuated his original lie—“Ye shall not surely die.”
Quite often spiritism is seen as a desire to gain control of ones destiny—a seemingly noble goal. For example, astrologers offer the hope to gain insights into the future of an individual by a complex formula of dates and celestial alignments. You might remember how Nancy Reagan, while in the White House, planned part of her and her husband’s schedule based upon astrological predictions. According to Newsweek, Hillary Clinton, also while in the White House, used a medium to try and communicate with the late Eleanor Roosevelt. These people of influence in society lend a great deal of credibility to such dangerous practices. What appears as innocence can end up in dire consequences, for these supposed spiritual guides are
unaware they are actually communicating with demons.
